Lake Minnetonka covers over 22 miles in Hennepin County and Carver County and is the ninth-largest lake in Minnesota. The area offers a wide range of outdoor activities—on the water and off. Here are some of our best ways to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.

1. Take a Stroll Through Various Beautiful Gardens

Full of natural beauty, the lake area includes many public gardens you and your family can enjoy. Noerenberg Gardens in Wayzata is free to stroll through and includes various species of plants and flowers year-round. You can also enjoy a tour of the gardens from June to September.

2. Enjoy a Wide Range of Water Sports

Lake Minnetonka allows for all types of water sports from kayaking to waterskiing. Other water sport options include:

You’ll be able to see some of the beautiful mansions and homes that call the edge of Lake Minnetonka home.
